Narrative Poem
By Cody Freeman

The river moves fast and swift
The boat is anchored so we don’t drift
The water is cold
I want to fold
But still I go

Down to the bottom
Fast I fall
I get there in awe
At the water I saw
There all is still except for the silt
Blocking my view

I sweep away the dust and dirt
The rocks and shells kind of hurt
But all is worth when I unearth
The great tooth I have unearthed
Tooth in hand I head to the surface
My face grimaces as I swim to the shore

I flop on the boat
And wop my great find
They all are in wow
Then someone asks me How
I simply reply
My dad showed me how.
